Personify, a nationally recognized and awarded recruiting firm, is hiring a Territory Business Manager for our client, an innovative biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of treatments for retinal diseases, based in Naperville, IL.

Job Description:

Geographic Atrophy (GA) is a disease affecting over one million elderly patients a year in the US with no current treatment option and can lead to irreversible blindness. We are investigating a new treatment, Avacincaptad Pegol (ACP), for these patients and is committed to developing transformative therapies for retinal disease.

The Territory Business Manager will primarily be responsible for educating the eyecare community on GA and, pending FDA approval, compliantly promote ACP for appropriate patients. This role will be the business owner that helps generate demand for ACP, executing local marketing and sales strategies.

We are seeking highly motivated, solution-based individuals to join our commercial field sales team.

The success of this role will be reliant on working cross-functionally with internal key stakeholders and delivering a superior level of customer experience for all eye care professionals serving patients with GA.

This is a field-based role within a designated geography reporting to a specified Regional Business Director within the sales team. Overnight travel (25%-50%) may be required based on the business needs of a given territory and is geographically dependent. This role will also require occasional travel to the home office in Parsippany, NJ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively drives sales performance for ACP, upon approval, in their territory to ensure quotas are met or exceeded.
  • Contributes to delivering a high launch sales trajectory for ACP, upon approval, and consistently meets sales growth expectations over time.
  • Develops, collaborates on, and implements territory plans that properly identify and prioritize activities to drive short- and long-term sales goals.
  • Communicates on a regular basis with their Regional Business Director to deliver business results.
  • Works with cross functional field teams to foster and grow relationships with key GA treatment decision makers, including physicians, support staff, and administrators to address needs and deliver solutions.
  • Leads and executes educational events with our partners.
  • Learns and demonstrates a strong clinical understanding of ophthalmology and retina, to ensure a meaningful partnership with our customers.
  • Fosters a high performing team environment by sharing knowledge, experience and gathered insights, by acting as a peer influencer to help others achieve success.
  • Meet all administrative business expectations and standards, including budgets, reporting, and communication.
  • Adhere to compliance and operating principles and expectations

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of specialty pharma/biotech commercial experience
  • Ophthalmologic, especially retina, experience preferred
  • Buy and Bill experience preferred
  • Demonstrates strong sales performance track record
  • Demonstrates an understanding of business drivers and regulations within healthcare
  • Effectively use active listening, probing and other selling skills, to enhance communication to build and influence of key customers
  • Embodies skills in building and maintaining professional relationships with key customers and office staff and others in the customers influence network
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; exceptional presentation and facilitation skills required
